Saudi Arabia decides to revise financial compensation and fees imposed on foreign workers

The Undersecretary of the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, Hani Al-Mojil, announced a decision to revise financial compensation and fees of foreign workers.

Al-Mojil added, in a workshop organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Mecca, that the financial compensation and the fees imposed on the expatriate will be set on a quarterly basis instead of annually, adding that this will solve many problems.

He pointed out that the workers can sign a two-year contract, and if they wish to leave their work before the completion of the contract period, they must fulfill the penalty clause in order to commit to compensating the employer, before moving to the new employer and that the fees should be paid by the employer.
