Jordan: Jordanian farmers in the Jordan Valley lift their strike

The Jordan Valley Farmers' Union decided to lift its strike and once again supply agricultural products to the central markets.

In a statement, the Union explained that the strike was lifted in order to address the problems facing the sector, particularly those related to labor and the sale of products. In the same communiqué, the Union said that the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Agriculture have expressed their intention to coordinate with professionals in the sector to address these issues.

The Union of Farmers of the Jordan Valley stressed that the closure of international markets has caused major disruptions to the harvest and called on the authorities to find alternatives for the sale of agricultural products. The Union considered that farmers must be temporarily exempted from certain charges so that they can face the current crisis.
