The President of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Libya received the President and elected members of the General Union of Medical Physics on December 13, 2020.
During this meeting, the President of the General Federation stressed the importance of the role of trade unions in defending the rights of their members and preserving their achievements. The president recalled that the trade unions benefit from the right of initiative that allows them to propose laws and to debate those that are subject to amendments. She also indicated that the trade unions contribute to the training of the skills of their members and to sensitize them on the importance of trade union organization.
The president of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Libya called on the affiliates to support the General Union of Medical Physics and said that the trade union center will always support the union and will organize trainings for its members to strengthen their capacities in trade union work.
For their part, the founding members stressed the importance of medical physics and its role in protecting technicians and patients from x-rays. However, they pointed out that this role is not sufficiently valued, stating that eliminating this deficiency is one of their main objectives.
At the end of the meeting, the President of the General Federation congratulated the elected members and encouraged them to do their best to serve the nation, the citizens and all workers in the sector.
