The Ministry of Human Resources and Nationalisation has stated that companies whose operations are blocked by the pandemic should not suspend the payment of wages. According to the ministry, any company that blocks wages commits an offence that will lead to sanctions.
In a statement, the ministry recalled that workers and civil servants in the private sector have the right to hold a maximum of two jobs as long as they have a part-time employment contract. To do so, employees do not need to obtain authorisation from an employer.
He added that any company that recruits an employee who already has a job without authorization is liable to a fine of 50 thousand dirhams and other sanctions in case of recidivism.
