In a press release issued by its media centre, the Social Security Institution announced the launch of the 'Estidama' (*sustainability) programme, previously presented by the Head of Government. It is a support programme for workers in enterprises not registered with social security and operating in the sectors hardest hit by the pandemic.
The communiqué explained that the programme, costing 200 million dinars, is financed by the government with 134 million dinars, and by the General Institution of Social Security with 66 million dinars, covered by the surplus of the occupational accident insurance.
Thanks to this programme, workers in undeclared enterprises will receive 50% of their net wages with a minimum threshold of 220 dinars and a maximum threshold of 500 dinars for a period not exceeding six months from December 2020. The programme, which will benefit about 10 thousand workers, will also take care of social security contributions and various insurances. The percentage of these contributions has not yet been fixed.
