Several Jordanian media outlets reported that the Sydney ready-to-wear factory, located in the city of Aqaba and specializing in exporting to U.S. markets, had about 1,920 cases of coronavirus contamination among its foreign workers.
In this context, the London-based ImpACT Foundation for Human Rights said it had been informed that more than 85% of the workers at the plant had been infected with the virus.
The media reported that the infected workers are from Bengal and India. Jordanian workers have been on paid leave since last July, while foreigners have been forced to continue working.
