The Basic Union of the oil company Perenco, located on the island of Kerkennah in the south of the country, issued a strike notice for 12 and 13 November. The Union, which is part of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT), is calling for an increase in wages and bonuses, and promotions, among other things.
The staff are calling for the unification of premiums between all employees, as is the case with the administrative mobility premium and the night premium. The other demands concern the creation of a social fund with insurance contracts, the establishment of a promotion system, work uniforms for drivers and housing for those who do not live in Kerkennah.
