Owners of domestic workers recruitment offices have revealed that social media pages have become black markets for human trafficking and are running advertisements for the recruitment of Asian and African female workers in irregular situation.
They explained that this phenomenon is spreading because of the new decision by the Ministry of Labour which prohibits recruitment offices from following up with the worker after three months of her arrival in Jordan.
So far, the Jordanian authorities – which enforce tough anti-trafficking laws – have not commented on the claims of owners of domestic workers recruitment offices.
