Algeria: SNTE calls for closure of schools

The Covid-19 pandemic continues to wreak havoc in Algeria, especially in educational institutions and schools. In this context, the National Union of Education Workers (SNTE) has called on the government to close schools in light of current health conditions.

In a statement issued last Saturday, the national office of the SNTE expressed its concerns about the evolution of the health situation and the increase in new infections by the virus. The national office also denounced the lack of measures and preventive measures needed to contain the spread of Covid-19.
