Chahar Saad, Secretary-General of the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions, inaugurated the first evaluation meeting of the General Trade Union of Transport Workers on Monday.
In the course of his speech, Chahar Saad reviewed several projects and strategies currently being conducted by the General Federation with a focus on those related to the General Union of Transportation Workers that are managed with the collaboration and support of the International Federation of transport workers (ITF). Saad stressed the importance of the Union’s participation in the implementation of these strategies and plans and its views on the reform of the Palestinian Labour Code to serve the interests of workers in the sector.
For her part, the project coordinator, Majd Smaro, presented a detailed report of the project for the year 2020. The President of the Union and the participating members presented their comments on all the projects and discussed the obstacles they faced.
At the end of the meeting, participants issued recommendations, plans and strategies that will be implemented over the next year.
