In collaboration with the World Center for Solidarity at Work, The Women’s Committee of the National Union of Transport Workers in Palestine organized a workshop at the Trade Union headquarters in Ramallah under the theme “Building Skills to Identify Cases of Gender-Based Violence in the World of Work”.
Thirteen executives from the Union of Governorates of Ramallah and al-Bireh participated in this workshop which aims to define the mechanisms of action for an effective treatment of these violations, through training for members of the Union’s Women’s Committee, who manage the organization of workers in the various governorates of the West Bank as field members involved in communication with workers, men and women.
The participants followed interventions on the different forms of violence and their impacts on men and women, the measures necessary for the establishment of a mechanism to identify cases of violence, the development of a plan to help workers fight GBV and the planning of more effective field visits that are able to bring more workers into the sectoral trade unions of the General Palestinian Federation of Trade Unions.
