Palestine: Transport Union blocks passage of Israeli trucks

The Transport Union blocked the passage of Israeli trucks at the Jalamah border crossing on Tuesday. This blockage responds to the obstacles imposed on the traffic of Palestinian trucks.

Present at the event was the Secretary-General of the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions, Chahar Saad, explained that the trade union center supports all its affiliates regardless of their sector of activity said that the Transport Union does everything to preserve the dignity of its workers.

Chahar Saad said that this sector represents one of the main economic activities of the Palestinian National Authority which should, according to the interested party, support the sector in its legitimate requests by preventing Israeli trucks from entering the territories of Palestine.

Several members of the Union of Different Cities of Palestine participated in the protest rally and explained that this is the first movement that is part of a series of protests aimed at blocking the entry of Israeli trucks into the areas of the Palestinian Authority.

It is worthy to note that the International Quartet for Border Crossing Points called for pressure on the Israeli side to find a quick solution for Palestinian truck drivers at the crossing points.
