Tunisian Prime Minister declared in a televised speech last Saturday that Covid-19 was classified as a professional disease for health workers. The announcement came in compliance with a previous agreement between the Ministry of Health and the General University of Health of the Tunisian General Confederation of Labor, which was approved on 26 September.
Following this announcement, Tunisian social media have witnessed a major debate about the decision announced for health workers and the exclusion of a number of sectors facing the epidemic, such as security forces and those working in direct and daily contact with citizens.
Observers expect a number of other unions to ask for the dissemination of this resolution among all other sectors to insure Social justice work among all the labor force.
