Amnesty International has published a new report on the situation of migrants and refugees in Libya. The organisation called on the European Union to review its cooperation with the Libyan authorities and to provide them with additional assistance only if they take measures to stop the violence inflicted on refugees and migrants.
“Libya, a country torn apart by years of war, has become even more dangerous for refugees and migrants seeking a better life … Instead of receiving protection, they are subjected to numerous and terrible human rights abuses.”
The NGO said in its report that “Between Life and Death, Refugees and migrants are trapped in the terrifying cycle of violence in Libya.”
