President of the Press Editors Syndicate in Lebanon said that incidents of assaulting attaining journalists and photo-journalists have become frequent throughout the past period, which raises concerns about the methods used with media professionals, regardless of their affiliations and locations.
The President added that colleague Kamel Jaber was attacked in the town of Kafr Ruman, and two days ago, Annahar newspaper cameraman, Nabil Ismail, was subjected to a similar attack while he was covering an issue that took place in the neighborhood of Mirna Al-Shalouhi.
“Such method is condemned and rejected under any pretext and from any party”, he added.
The President warned everyone as well against the consequences of adopting violence as a behavior in dealing with journalists, media professionals and photographers, and that will backfire on them as these people will not be spared from any accountability.
