Jordan: Tamkeen Centre publishes poverty indicators in the kingdom

The Tamkeen Centre for Legal Aid and Human Rights has published poverty indicators. The centre’s figures show that the absolute poverty rate reached 15.7% in Jordan and that the poverty gap reached 3.5%, while the extreme poverty rate is 0.334%.

Analysis of these data confirms that poverty has risen from 14.4% in 2010 to 15.7% in 2020. Thus, the poverty line per capita rises from 68 dinars per person per month (816 dinars per year) to 105.6 dinars per month (1 226 dinars per year).
