Libya: armed group set fire to Nigerian migrant

A Nigerian migrant died after being set on fire by an armed group in the Tadjourah region, east of the capital Tripoli. The armed group broke into a factory that employs African migrants and forced the victim to leave the facility before burning it alive in front of his colleagues.

It is worthy to note that the latest report of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights revealed that no less than 70 migrants died in Libya during the current year. 30 of these migrants were killed by human trafficking mafias in the Mizda region southwest of Tripoli. In 2018 and 2019, approximately 1,750 migrants, including women and children, were killed.
