The Minister of Labour and Integration, Mohamed Amekraz, said that 2,228 domestic workers are declared to the National Social Security Fund (CNSS).
During the presentation of the new practical guide on the application of the provisions of Law No. 19.12 on working and employment conditions for domestic workers, the Minister stated that the first figures are largely encouraging.
During the study day organized at the initiative of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Integration, in collaboration with the Public Prosecutor and with the support of the International Labour Organization (ILO), Mohamed Amekraz said that 2,574 contracts were signed and 2,228 domestic workers were declared to the CNSS until August 2020.
In a statement to the online newspaper Hespress, the Minister recalled that the declaration of domestic workers to the CNSS became mandatory in July 2020.
The Minister also stressed that the implementation of these laws is not an end in itself, since the real challenge is to enforce and respect them. To do this, we need to coordinate efforts between the various competent institutions, such as the labour inspectorate, the judicial authorities and, above all, the public prosecutor’s office.”
