The National Federation of Electricity and Drinking Water Authorities, affiliated to the Moroccan Labour Union (UMT), has threatened to escalate its protest movements until its legitimate demands are met.
The Federation called on all its members to come together and prepare to engage in all forms of struggle until the government implements the Marrakesh Agreement, signed between the Federation, the Offices Directorate-General and directors of agencies and distribution companies on 15 June 2019.
The Federation also denounced the exclusion of workers in the sector from the latest wage increases (of 500 dirhams) and the blocking of the list of promotions for the year 2020 by representatives of the Ministry of Finance.
