In collaboration with the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation, the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) and the Arab Trade Union Confederation (CSA) organized a meeting of the Network of Trade Union Lawyers and the Arab Region Network of Trade Union Rights and Freedoms.
The meeting discussed the draft report on violations of trade union rights and freedoms in the Arab region during the Covid-19 pandemic and reviewed a presentation on the latest preparations for the upcoming International Labour Conference.
After commenting on the report, the 30 participants, representing Arab trade union organizations, discussed trade union and working conditions in their countries and made a number of proposals to support international trade union solidarity and ways to facilitate its mechanisms.
The meeting identified the contributions and discussions to the action plan of the Legal Network and the Network of Trade Unionists Lawyers and the Network of Trade Union Rights and Freedoms of the Arab Region for the next phase, including the launch of international solidarity campaigns with Iraqi workers and their trade union movement.
