The professional organization Air Transport Action Group (ATAG) stated that around 46 million travel jobs are threatened worldwide by the coronavirus crisis.
“Our analysis shows that up to 4.8 million aviation jobs could be lost by the beginning of next year, a 43 per cent reduction from pre-COVID levels. While this impact is extended to all jobs that aviation would normally support, 46 million jobs are at risk,” ATAG said in a statement.
This alert was issued after all airlines reduced air traffic due to the expansion of the coronavirus and the general health lockdown imposed last March. The airlines are trying to put pressure on the various governments to lift the lockdown and health restrictions and replace them with quick tests at airports.
