In order to contain the spread of Covid-19, the Jordanian government has decided to close the kindergartens again. This decision was followed by a large campaign on social networks entitled #no to the closing of kindergartens .
Seeking to mitigate protests against this decision, the Minister of Social Development in the interim government explained that the closure was based on a recommendation from the National Epidemiology Committee. The Minister pointed out that the Committee has recorded several contaminations in the ranks of workers in these nurseries that it has taken action to protect children.
On the other hand, the Minister of Institutional Performance Development stated that government departments, official institutions, government services and businesses will take into account the conditions of working mothers to allow them to work remotely. With regard to private sector workers, the minister called on employers to take into account the closing of day care centres in the development of the employment of working mothers.
