A group of artists from the Tataouine governorate (in the south of the country) began a hunger strike last Tuesday. This strike was decided after the parties organized a series of protests in front of the headquarters of the regional delegation of Cultural Affairs to claim to be paid for their participation in the 40th edition of the Tataouine Ksours International Festival.
A representative of these artists said that the association and the administration of the Tataouine Ksours International Festival had committed to pay all the artists and troops who participated in this important cultural event. Commitments that were not honoured which led the artists to declare the strike.
