Shaher Saad, Secretary-General of the General Union of Palestinian Trade Unions, said that the Union sticks to the rights of workers in Palestine and seeks to provide suitable working conditions for them.
"The establishment of decent work patterns and the creation of a working tradition in the Palestinian labor market will contribute to enabling the various branches of the Palestinian economy to achieve social and economic development based on the rich principles of employment, including the promotion of equal economic opportunities for women," said Saad.
To conclude, he stated that goal 8 of the Millennium Sustainable Development Goals provides for the promotion of sustained economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all to enjoy all rights, privileges and gender equality, and the promotion of labor freedoms and rights at the national level by ensuring all its conditions and requirements, employment opportunities, unemployment, trade union organization and social security.
