The spokesman for the Jordanian Ministry of Labour said that the days of general confinement are not considered official holidays since the confinement was decreed by the National Centre for Security and Crisis Management and not by a decree issued by the Head of Government or the Ministerial Council.
In this context, the spokesperson explained that the calculation of workers' wages during the days of confinement must be done on the basis of the Labour Code, Defence Decree number 6 and Judgment number 10. This calculation must take into account whether the day of confinement is a weekly day off or a regular working day.
It is worthy to note that the Ministry of Labour published on its official website details of workers' wages during general sanitary confinement. Here is the link: http://www.mol.gov.jo/AR//NewsDetails/55
