Brother Shaher Saad, Secretary General of the General Federation of Palestinian Trade Unions, announced that he had received a statement of support for the Palestinian people from the General Federation of Trade Unions in the United Kingdom, which includes all British unions and federations, and has 12 million members from various unions, including British and Irish journalists.
The statement affirmed the British trade unions’ adherence to supporting the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with eastern Jerusalem as its capital.
The text of the statement expressed a firm stand against the Israeli annexation plan for the Palestinian Arab lands, which was approved by the Israeli occupation state, which the statement described as the occupation and apartheid state because it contradicts the rules of international legitimacy and strengthens the Apartheid system, undermining the two-state solution.
The statement clarified that “Israel’s” insult and disdain for international legitimacy stems from its failure to be held accountable for its crimes against the Palestinian people, and this is something that can no longer be tolerated or accepted, and there is an urgent need to take decisive measures regarding Israel’s illegal actions against the Palestinians.
