As part of the protest programme set up by the National Secretariat of the Moroccan Workers’ Union (MWU), the Regional Union of MWU Trade Unions in Casablanca organized, on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, a protest rally at the Moulay Rachid industrial area.
This gathering was organized to protest against the collective dismissals of workers who opposed the violation of rights and laws and to also oppose the government that shows no reaction to protect union freedoms.
The protesters also denounced the Strike Act and the Trade Unions Act stating that the government is seeking to withdraw from the content of the agreement of 25 April 2019. The strikers pointed out that the two bills triggered are not a national priority and that the government must focus on the social and employment issues.
The Regional Union of Moroccan Workers’ Union in Casablanca has called on the Moroccan authorities to intervene to put an end to collective dismissals that threaten hundreds of families.
