Morocco: Royal Air Maroc Pilots Announce their Willingness to Cut Salaries

The Moroccan Association of Pilots of Aircraft announced that the pilots are ready to reduce their wages by 400 million dirhams (40 billion centimes) over a period of three years, as part of their contribution to support the plan to revive the Royal Air Maroc company.

 

In a press release related to the referendum organized on August 31, the day after the demobilization of 65 pilots, the association declared that these pilots express their full support for the plan to revive the Royal Air Maroc company, through their contribution by reducing their wages by nearly 400 million dirhams, over a period of three years. There by, saving costs of the economic quarter, which is estimated at 250 million dirhams

After confirming that the votes of this referendum were counted last Wednesday in the presence of Judicial Commissioner Barakat, the Association stated that the matter is related to the referendum about the pilots’ request to reduce their salaries within the limits of the financial covers sufficient to meet the wages of the pilots involved in the demobilization, in order to immediately reintegrate.
