With the participation of a number of workers in the sector, the General Union of Jordanian Electricity Workers organized a workshop entitled “Basics of Trade Union Work”, which lasted for three days in Aqaba.
The Union issued a statement in which it stated that the aim of this workshop is to enhance the culture of workers with labor regulations and laws, and the role the union plays to advance the capabilities of workers in the field of knowledge of their rights and duties in accordance with the unified system of trade unions and the labor law.
Ali Al-Hadid, head of the Union, said that the workshop came as a start for the union training project supported by the Danish Workers’ Federation, and includes a series of courses organized by the training unit, focusing on workers’ rights and aiming to increase their union awareness.
