In a statement to one of the TV channels, Al-Naam Mayara, general secretary of the General Union of Workers in Morocco (UGTM), said that the Minister of Employment and Professional Integration had contacted the union centers to inform them of the postponement of referring the organizational draft of the right to strike to Parliament.

Mayara also highlighted that “the government has responded to this alert, and we agreed with the Minister of Employment and Professional Integration Mohamed Amkraz on next week to start discussing the strike law”, stressing that “the principle of freedom in strike will not be given up.”
Mayara finally added that “the decision to postpone the programming of the aforementioned organizational bill, on the Social Sectors Committee in the House of Representatives, comes to open the door once again for dialogue and consultation with the unions and the General Contracting Union.”
