The Director-General of the National Observatory of New and Emerging Diseases, Nissaf Bin Alia, said during a press interview last Tuesday that the recently recorded infection episodes are linked to gatherings of some workers in the workplace, which are supposed to be subjected to strict application of the health protocol in order to avoid the quick spread of infection.
Without mentioning the responsibility of employers in implementing the health protocol for the workplace. Ben Alia urged for the need to adhere to the application of the health protocol to avoid further spread of infection in the workplace.
Ben Alia indicated that many problems prevent the implementation of the national strategy to confront the emerging Coronavirus, including the provision of human resources and the necessary capabilities to implement them, as well as the activation of preventive measures and legislative texts related to prevention, such as wearing masks, physical distancing and preventing gatherings.
Ben Alia emphasized that Tunisia is witnessing a rapid spread of the virus in several episodes of infection, with the presence of many cases carrying the virus without showcasing any symptoms, they can be carriers of infection, stressing that the national strategy is based on the need to isolate all cases that have been discovered in order to contain the infection and prevent the spread of the virus.
