The Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT) concluded its national council last Wednesday, amid fears of an outbreak of infection among the participants, after a member of the council tested positive for Coronavirus.
The infected individual went into self-isolation as soon as he felt the Coronavirus symptoms, especially after receiving the news of the injury of more than 40 workers among his colleagues in the factory where he works.
Upon the completion of the council’s work, all participants went into self-quarantine inside the hotel, awaiting the competent health services, which took samples for testing from all attendees. The initial results have proved everyone’s safety, pending renewal of tests after 3 days for further confirmation.
It is noteworthy that the National Council of the Tunisian General Labor Union was held in presence at the coastal city of Hammamet on the 24, 25 and 26 August.
