The Moroccan Association for Migrants’ Rights has expressed its contempt over the actions of the municipality of San Lorenzo de Latrava inciting hatred in a post made through its official page on Facebook
The president of the Moroccan Association for the Rights of Migrants, Maria Del Rosario Sanchez Diaz, denounced the content of the post, which included discrimination and linking Moroccan immigrants with criminality.
The local newspaper Mai Ciudad Real stated that the reported incident is a clear hate crime against Moroccan citizens, which includes the transmission of false ideas that feed racism, in addition to its contribution to the spread of attacks on Moroccan immigrants.
The same source stressed that the Moroccan Association for Migrants’ Rights does not exclude judicial follow-up as a potential measure it will take to convict the post, which “left widespread discontent and strong resentment among the association’s members in Spain”, according to the same source.
