Jordan: General Confederation of Trade Unions of Jordan Intensifies Online Unionist Training Courses

The General Confederation of Jordan Trade Unions continues to participate in the “Distance Learning” program of the Arab Trade Union Confederation, after it concluded the second batch of training, with the participation of the “Food Industries” union for the second time, and the “Municipalities” union for the first time.

Training for the third batch of The General Confederation of Jordan Trade Unions begins within the tenth regiment of the distance learning program this week, which includes participants from trade union organizations and labor unions representing several Arab countries that are members of the Arab Trade Union Confederation.

The program aims to strengthen the capabilities of trade unionists and workers as well as develop their skills in union work, along with other addressed labor issues, such as forced labor, occupational health and safety, child labor, and social protection, within three levels with four classes per level.

The President of the General Confederation of Jordan Trade Unions, Mazen Al-Maaytah, praised in previous statements, the experience of the Arab Trade Union Confederation in distance learning, appreciating the joint cooperation between the two parties, calling for the continuation of the experiment and its promotion to expand the circle of training and trade union and workers education to include a larger number of workers, trade unionists, and to follow upon the experiment beyond the COVID-19 crisis.

It is noteworthy that the “distance education” program was launched last year, with the participation of trade and union organizations and unions from various Arab countries. It is part of an e-learning system affiliated to the Arab Trade Union Confederation through its website, which provides educational videos and training materials on union work as well as the most prominent workers issues.
