The Jordanian Irbid Chamber of Commerce sent a letter to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Committee for pandemics, and the Ministry of Health, warning that this sector has become threatened with bankruptcy as a result of the continuous financial losses, liabilities, the large cost of rent and debts borrowed from banks to build these halls and secure workers’ salaries.
The address pointed out that many of the halls in Irbid were forced to let go thousands of workers, especially since the operation of the halls depends on dozens of other professions and consequently great causes damage to the national economy and leads to the bankruptcy of the owners of those sectors.
According to a press statement by the president of the aforementioned chamber, many of those who are about to marry are now going to rent private farms to hold their parties instead of wedding halls without any health control at reasonable prices.
At the end of his statement, the president of the Chamber of Commerce called for the sector to be opened, with the owners of these halls pledging to apply the general health and safety conditions in order to maintain the work of this sector and keep its workers.
