The International Labor Organization (ILO) will hold a high-level international virtual summit on COVID-19 and the world of work on 1-2 and also 7-9 July.
The summit is considered the largest online meeting between workers, employers and governments, as it will be addressing how to tackle the economic and social impacts of the pandemic, which have revealed the state of extreme vulnerability of millions of workers and economic enterprises.
Participants will also discuss how to rebuild a better world of work after recovering from a crisis.
Regional events for the summit will be held on July 1-2, followed by three days of global discussions on July 7-9.
The agenda of the summit will address a number of topics, the most important of which are how to enhance full and productive jobs in such new environment and the steps required to address the weaknesses revealed by the pandemic in the world of work.
The summit will also determine the type of workers who need special support and attention and how to put poverty reduction and eradication goals at the center of the pandemic recovery process.
