Emirates Airlines spokesman announced the dismissal of a number of its employees due to the effects of the Coronavirus on the aviation sector in the world and the decline in the company’s revenues.
“In these difficult times, and despite the fact that we have begun to gradually return to aviation with taking the necessary preventive measures, this pandemic has greatly affected many industrial sectors around the world, and despite our endeavors to maintain our family as it is, we have reviewed all possible scenarios to maintain our operational capabilities, and we have reached the conclusion that we must say goodbye to some wonderful people who worked with us”, the spokesman said.
Emirates Airlines also noted that: “We have been forced to make these difficult decisions and we will treat these people fairly and with respect, and we will work with the affected employees to ensure that they receive the care and attention in the necessary methods”.
It is important to note that the air travel in 2020 decreased by 50 % in the Middle East region compared to the previous year, according to the estimates of the International Air Transport Association.
