Jordan: Teachers Syndicate Depicts 197 Violations in Private Schools

The Jordanian Teachers Union announced that it has submitted to the ministries of Education and Labor four statements of violations by private schools which it had monitored during the last period in violation of laws and defence orders regarding teachers’ salaries.

The violations ranged from forcing some teachers to resign and unilaterally reducing wages, not registering some teachers under social security system, and denying them their wages.

The most serious of these recorded violations was about forcing teachers to sign different payrolls from what they actually receive or forcing them to agree to lower wages.

It is worth mentioning that the mentioned monitoring process is the first result of the legal support and consultation plan launched by the union at the beginning of this year.

The Jordanian Teachers Syndicate did not hide that it was able to solve many problems through dialogue and revealed its intention to submit all the violations that occurred to the Jordanian judiciary for final judgements.
