On Wednesday morning, April 8, 2020, the Assistant Secretary General of Health and Safety of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions Ali Al Asfour met with Mr. Mustafa Al Sheikh, Head of Occupational Safety Department at the Ministry of Labor and Social Development. The meeting tackled the most important developments on the local scene and in particular the developments of Coronavirus situation and the measures taken by the National Coordination Committee in this regard.
The meeting also went through the decisions taken by the Occupational Health and Safety Council in its March 11 meeting, and the extent of applying inspection procedures in the facilities.
Al-Asfour also met with some of the occupational safety engineers in the department.
The Assistant Secretary General expressed his thanks and appreciation for the good reception, confirming the Federation’s keenness on joint cooperation with the Ministry in implementing health and safety decisions and guidelines and the exchange of experiences, information and statistics.
