An agreement has been signed between the Tunisian Syndicate for Hotels and the Tunisian Syndicate of Travel Agencies on the one hand, and the General Syndicate of Tourism and Handicrafts of the Tunisian General Labor Union on the other hand, regarding the payment of April wages for the benefit of workers in the hotel sector and travel agencies.
The agreement was made during two working sessions held on Wednesday and Thursday under the supervision of the Minister of Tourism.
These two meetings were held to discuss the salaries of the tourism sector workers and travel agencies concerned with the exceptional and circumstantial procedures stipulated in Decree No. 4 of 2020 and Order No. 164 of 2020 related to accompanying institutions and taking care of their affiliates.
It was agreed to grant 200 dinars ($ 69) as part of exceptional circumstantial assistance package by the government and to save 65 % of the actual worker’s wages, which is equivalent to the actual 17-day wages by the employing institution, subject to the provisions of Chapter 9 of Decree No. 4 of 2020.
The negotiating parties also agreed that what is stipulated in these two agreements is the minimum that cannot be disposed of when concluding special bilateral agreements at the institution level.
