According to “Cairo 24” news site, the “Omega” ceramic factory in “Tenth of Ramadan” city of Sharqia governorate was closed after the confirmation of positive Coronavirus infections to a number of workers.
Sources of “Cairo 24” said that the preventive medicine committees conducted a check-up for the factory workers and confirmed that a number of them were infected with the virus, including cases at “Belbeis” and “Abu Hammad” centers in Sharqia Governorate.
The same sources pointed out that the number of workers in the factory exceeds 1000 workers, as the factory was closed and all subjected to domestic isolation, with a warning that they should not leave their homes before the expiration fourteen days, for fear of spreading the virus.
A 30-year-old factory worker was confirmed to be infected and was immediately transferred to the isolation hospital with “Tamma Al-Amdid”, while the executive agencies accompanied by preventive medicine teams in the Directorate of Health Affairs in Sharqia Governorate moved to the village. The village was then sterilized and disinfected, and cases and families that were suspected of being in contact with the confirmed Covid-19 case were isolated.
Another factory worker was transferred, who is at the beginning of his forties, the tests confirmed his infection with the new COVID-19, while the executive agencies, preventive medicine and doctors of the Directorate of Health Affairs in Sharkia Governorate moved to the hometown of the infected person in the town of “Al Kateiba” of the Belbais Center and City, where they were subjected to isolation. 12 homes of 19 families, including 90 individuals were forced to comply to home quarantine, with the help of a security force from the Belbeis police station, to prevent anyone entering or leaving the isolated houses.
Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, the Governor of Sharqia, announced that he would support all the families who who were forced to home quarantine within the governorate, and it was expected to provide aid and dry food packages to the isolated families throughout the period of the quarantine.
