At its meeting on Monday, the Economic Vigilance Committee focused on measures to support people working in the informal sector and who were directly affected by quarantine.
This process will be divided into two phases. The first stage concerns families that benefit from the “Ramid” service and operate in the informal sector and have no daily income after quarantine. These families can benefit from financial assistance, which will be granted from the resources of the counter Corona pandemic fund.
Union sources confirmed that this financial assistance will be determined as follows:
First: 800 Dirhams ($ 81) for a family of two or less
Second: 1000 Dirhams ($ 101) for a family of three to four individuals
Third: 1.200 Dirhams ($ 121) for a family of more than four people
The household head who benefits from the “Ramid” service must send his “Ramid” card number by SMS from his mobile phone to the following number 1212.
The “Ramid” cards that will be accepted are the ones that were valid on December 31, 2019.
Statements can be made from Monday, 30 March 2020, and aid will be gradually distributed from Monday, 6 April 2020, in order to respect the preventive measures imposed by the pandemic.
As for the second stage, the same amounts mentioned above will be given to the families that do not benefit from the “Ramid” service but whose members work in the informal sector and stopped working due to quarantine.
For reference, there is an E-platform dedicated to making statements that will be announced in the upcoming days.
