The Jordanian Labor Observatory recommended the issuance of a defence order prohibiting the dismissal of workers from all private sector establishments and imposing the delivery of wages as usual as well as preventing deduction of any amounts from their salaries during this period of unemployment.
The Jordanian Labor Observatory of the Phoenix Center for Economic Studies also called in a recent report to provide quick financial support for business establishments that were affected by the Coronavirus outbreak in order to maintain its survival, help it retain its workers and namely preserve the rights of all Its employees.
The Observatory called for permanently reducing social security contributions for all economic sectors while preserving the various social protections in place, in addition to monitoring emergency financial allocations by the government to cover part of the salaries and wages of workers in economic sectors that were affected by the crisis.
The Observatory also called for the activation of the application of unemployment allowance to contribute to the payment of the salaries of workers in business facilities affected by the crisis throughout the period of business interruption.
