The central unions, which are the Moroccan Labor Union, the Democratic Confederation of Labor and the General Union of Workers in Morocco, the Federal Democratic Labor and the National Labor Union in Morocco, proposed, in a joint press release, a deduction of three days over three months of wages, i.e. one working day for each month.
The unions said that this measure comes “to express the involvement of the Moroccan working class in the public sector, territorial groups, public office, institutions, public contracting and state companies, and their contribution to this solidarity effort with a three-day wage of net monthly wages, deducted over a period of three months”.
The central unions also expressed their praise for the royal initiative to create 10 billion dirhams to counter the health, economic and social impacts of the Corona epidemic, also praising the preventive and precautionary initiatives of the government and various public authorities, to preserve the health of citizens and limit the spread of this epidemic.
The trade unions also praised the national effort, sacrifice and courage of the various components of the Moroccan health system, including doctors, nurses, and technicians, as well as their involvement in ensuring that all material, human and scientific requirements to ensure the injured, and provide all elements of prevention from the epidemic.
The trade unions also warmly saluted the public forces of the Royal Armed Forces, the Royal Gendarmerie, the security forces, the auxiliary and civil protection forces, for their relentless efforts in this difficult situation.
The statement also added: “We are proud of the high sense of solidarity of the various components of the Moroccan people, and the sincere cohesion between the state and society, in order to promote national unity in the face of the Corona pandemic”.
In a single day, Morocco succeeded in raising more than 10 billion Dirhams to face the repercussions of the emerging “Corona virus”, after wealthy, public and private companies, members of the government and parliament announced important contributions to the fund to combat the effects of this pandemic.
