National Syndicate of Education in Morocco Calls to Harness all Efforts to Enable the Distance Learning Process

Miloud Maseed, the Secretary General of the National Syndicate of Education, which is under the banner of the Moroccan Labor Union, affirmed in an appeal that their union is following with great interest the developments of the new Coronavirus epidemic, and the accompanying precautionary and preventive measures to besiege it, including stopping studies and keeping teachers in their homes, pointing out that this requires everyone to mobilize collectively with the available tools to contribute to the continuation of distance learning achievement securing students with the education they need.

The syndicate’s secretary general called on union activists in all regions and to enlist in the efforts to secure learning time by harnessing all technical capabilities and creating alternatives to communication and pedagogical mechanisms to contribute to enabling pupils and students to pursue their studies remotely.

Maseed praised the initiatives that are currently being taken in this context, praising the solidarity stance of the trade union movement in Morocco and the involvement of the Moroccan working class as well as state institutions and components of society in relation to this pandemic.

For reference, the regional branch of the National Syndicate of Education in Marrakesh launched a pioneering experience since the days of seeking to contribute to the production of knowledge and pedagogical content that will ensure the success of the distance education process, an experiment in which a number of unionists and sympathizers have engaged in.

It has been welcomed by the educational authorities in the region as an ideal image of a partnership management with social partners.
