The Jordanian Official Gazette was issued the day before yesterday instructions to allow institutions and establishments to pay a minimum of 50% of the value of the usual wage for workers, and instructions and procedures for obtaining approval for sectors and institutions to resume doing their business.
Al-Ghad newspaper reported that the instructions for allowing institutions and establishments stipulated the payment of no less than 50% of the value of the usual wage for workers.
Within the current the spread of the Corona virus, establishments and institutions could be authorized to work partially and practically as well as do its activities or goals in part and with a specified number of its total employment, whether it is on the job site or working remotely.
The Minister of Labor shall issue his decision to approve or not within a period not exceeding seven working days, and no institution may employ any worker who has been approved to pay no less than 50% of his usual wage.
Regarding the instructions that would be permitted to resume work, instructions issued in this regard indicated that requests related to permitting any economic sector, institution or any entity wishing to conduct its work are submitted to the respective minister of the sector.
The instructions indicated that the committee formed by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, the Minister of Labor, the Minister of Health, and the competent minister considers any requests submitted to allow any economic sector, corporation or entity that wishes to carry out its work at the present time and after determining the competent minister for an urgent logistical, economic or health need and the proposed percentage, the number of workers that will operate at the establishment.
The instructions indicated that the committee issued its decision regarding the application submitted with approval or disapproval, provided that the decision is included in the event of approval, the conditions contained in the recommendations of the National Epidemic Committee, if any, and at least the specified percentage of employment for employment.
