Kuwait Oil Company Determines its Position on Continuing to Work in Oil Facilities

The State Oil Company of Kuwait announced, yesterday, Sunday, measures to continue working in production sites and other facilities, despite the spread of the Coronavirus and the imposition of curfews in the country.

The company stated, in a statement, that it had taken all necessary measures to ensure the continuity of work in all of its facilities, and the operation of production facilities and groups, and related teams, to ensure that the company continue to operate.

The company has put in place the necessary emergency plans to bypass the delicate stage, and to overcome any circumstances that may arise from the exacerbation of the crisis.

“We are keen to avoid any effects related to the outbreak of the new Coronavirus on our oil and administrative operations, and in a manner that preserves the state’s commitment to the local and international markets, and meets all the necessary needs”, said representatives of the company in a statement.

On Saturday evening, the government decided to impose a partial curfew from five in the evening until four in the morning and to extend the suspension of work in all government institutions for an additional two weeks.

Kuwait Oil, which was established in 1934, is affiliated with the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and is responsible for the activities of land and marine exploration, drilling and development of wells, in addition to drilling for crude oil and natural gas.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health announced the registration of 12 new cases of the Corona virus, the day before yesterday, Sunday, bringing the total number of infections to 188.

The spread in the Gulf countries increased with its expansion in Iran, due to its occurrence on the opposite bank of the Arabian Gulf and the existence of a large mobility movement with it.
