On April 6 , an official meeting between the Minister of Health, Dr. Saad Okoub, and a delegation from the General Union of Libyan Syndicates, took place, in response to a request made by Nermin El Sharif, President of the General Union to consider the conditions of international health workers in the Libyan Ports Company.
The meeting dwelt on the various precautionary measures taken by the company to protect its employees and international health personnel, despite the current scarcity of the protective requirements to combat COVID-19 in the workplace.
The Minister of Health commended the efforts of the security authorities and the workers and their union for their dedication to work, stressing his full support for cooperation with the General Union and its affiliates for the best interest of the country.
The minister also thanked the Federation for awareness, education and training of workers through a team of doctors specialized in infection control and gave his instructions to provide as much protective clothing as possible for international health personnel, including mentors.
