Workers of Two Egyptian Factories Put Under Self-Quarantine at Home

The Ministry of Business Sector announced the start of the application of self-isolation in home for workers of the two factories of Egypt Mahalla and Al-Nasr Spinning after two suspected Coronavirus cases.

“Due to the suspected presence of two Coronavirus in two areas within the Mahalla al-Kubra area, it was immediately directed to grant employees of the Egypt and Nasr spinning and weaving companies in Mahalla a leave from last Monday to March 31, with a commitment to self-isolation in their homes”, according to a statement by the Ministry of Business Sector.

Misr Al-Mahalla Company is considered the largest spinning and weaving company and was founded in 1927 and the number of its workers is estimated at about 15.000.

The Ministry of Health announced that there are 33 cases of coronavirus and 4 new deaths, bringing the total number of infected people to 327 and deaths to 14, while 54 cases have recovered and 74 cases whose results have turned from positive to negative.
