Democratic Labor Confederation Announces its Rejection of Moroccan Government Monopoly of Work-Related Decrees

The Democratic Confederation of Labor demanded that the government return to the institutionalized social dialogue table with a negotiated content on all social issues, in order to find an agreement on all laws of social nature.

The confederation confirmed in a press release issued after a meeting it held last Wednesday, at the central headquarters in Casablanca, its rejection of the government’s monopoly over the issuance of work-related decrees.

The confederation considered that the announcement of the establishment of the Moroccan Social Front, is their answer to the fierce attack on social gains, rights and freedoms, calling for extensive participation in the struggle initiatives of the front, and on top of which is the national march that was planned for today, Sunday, February 23 in the Nasr Square in Casablanca.

The confederation also expressed its support for the struggles of “Samir” company employees, in order to demand the rescue of the refinery from closure, the urgent resumption of production, and the maintenance of their social rights.

The confederation also renewed its rejection of the contracting mechanism in all its forms, considering it “a foundation for fragility in the civil service and an introduction of threats to public services.”
